Therapeutic exercises for the neck, back and extremities are an essential component of the rehabilitative process following injury. Dr. Doug and our staff will develop a plan of exercises and stretching to help you with your rehabilitation based on your physical condition and needs.
We prescribe specific strengthening and stabilizing exercises and stretches for our patient’s recovery because we recognize exercise is essential for long, healthy and vibrant life. Exercise has been scientifically shown to increase health by lowering cholesterol levels, strengthening the immune system, lowering body fat, increasing one’s sense of well being, and increasing muscle strength, tone, function and range of motion.
When done properly, therapeutic exercises and stretching can do more than just increase flexibility. Benefits may include reduced risk of injury to joints, muscles, and tendons, reduced muscular soreness and tension and increased suppleness due to stimulation of the production of chemicals which lubricate connective tissues.
